COVID-19 Update

To ensure that our customers are well informed during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, HEM will update this page to ensure that you have all the latest information.

Re-opening safely resources

As the NSW Government allows the gradual reopening of Pubs, Clubs and Hotels, it is essential that you are aware of the various actions that your business will need to undertake prior to reopening.

To support you, we have developed the following resources to help manage the safety aspects of reopening and resuming business:

  • COVID19 Safety Plan – Outlines the key safety related areas that should be reviewed to establish Safe Systems of Work for your staff and patrons prior to and after reopening. Click here to view the plan.
  • Venue Checklist – A detailed list of the typical hazards that occur in the majority of hospitality venues that need to be addressed prior to reopening and maintained and monitored regularly.
Click here to view the checklist.

Both these documents contain more detailed references that you may need to follow depending on the nature of your venue.

Other helpful resources

Wherever possible these references have been taken from SafeWorkNSW or other Government related websites.

A full and comprehensive generic document covering all industries has also been produced by the National COVID Safe Coordination Committee that you may wish to refer to:

We have been asked by several policy holders about the necessity of training staff on COVID-19 safety procedures and whilst training is currently not mandated by government it is strongly recommended as integral to maintaining safety in your venue.

The Federal Government has produced free generic elearning training:
